My dad broke his hip in a fall at a nursing home in October 2016, the nursing home’s neglect to summon prompt medical attention caused unnecessary pain and suffering to occur. While my dad was in the hospital recovering from hip surgery, I stopped by Mr. De La Piedra’s office in Pensacola, FL, explained my father’s situation to him, asked if he would consider taking on our case. Jack gave me his honest opinion, he thought our case was worth pursuing, and then he explained that these types of suits can take considerable time to reach a decision or settlement, he didn’t want me to be expecting a quick resolution. Time didn’t matter to me, I just wanted this nursing home held accountable for the inept care they had provided for my dad.
Jack did all the necessary legal notifications and filings to put this nursing home on notice that I was lodging a lawsuit against them on behalf of my dad, and he kept me updated as the case progressed through the legal system. The end result, Jack negotiated an out-of-court settlement with the insurance company for the nursing home that was agreeable to my family. Throughout this whole ordeal, Jack was a true professional, sympathetic to my family’s situation while also playing hardball with the opposition, and he kept me informed every step of the way. We couldn’t have won a case or settlement against the nursing home without Jack’s expert leadership of our case and I doubt that the settlement could have occurred as efficiently without him either.

I don't think anyone is happy to have to work with a lawyer as, usually, there's a reason why you have to hire them in the first place ... but, in this instance, I can truly say that working with Jack was a true pleasure. As I live overseas and had a relatively drawn-out procedure, my fear was that I would be disconnected and have to proactively push for information and/or progress.
